This custom rainwater harvesting project integrated four cistern tanks across three independent collection systems, providing both stormwater management and water reuse opportunities throughout the property.

At the rear west corner of the home, a 1,050-gallon cistern was installed to capture roof runoff for landscape irrigation. The system includes a pump, pump control box, and Rain Bird irrigation controller that distributes harvested rainwater through drip irrigation serving a large garden bed. This setup allows stored rainwater to be used efficiently while supporting healthy plant growth during dry periods.

On the east side of the home, beneath a series of windows, two 250-gallon door-style cisterns were installed and linked together to increase storage capacity. The paired tanks are connected to a dedicated pump system, creating a reliable source of harvested rainwater for future landscape use while maintaining a compact footprint alongside the home.

A third system was installed at the front east corner of the property, featuring a 467-gallon metal door-style cistern. Designed primarily as a stormwater management feature, this tank provides runoff capture and storage without a pump system, helping reduce the volume and velocity of stormwater leaving the site.

Together, these three systems deliver a total storage capacity of more than 2,000 gallons, demonstrating how multiple cistern configurations can be strategically integrated across a property to manage runoff, conserve water, and support sustainable landscaping practices.
