USS Summer Teacher Workshop
Another great workshop wrapped up! This summer we held a teacher training at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School and Sanderson High School with 23 participants. All teachers earned their rain garden certification from NC Cooperative Extension. In addition to in-classroom sessions, our July group had the opportunity to visit one of our recently completed projects in Raleigh, featuring two cisterns, a functioning rain garden, and a native plant bed. Meanwhile, our August group visited two sites that are in progress. We’re excited to continue working with this latest batch of teachers to hold a future student apprenticeship program. A big thank you to all who participated, and to our partners at Raleigh Stormwater for helping make this workshop possible!
